Bangladesh meaning Country of Bengal is bordered by India on all sides except for a small border with Burma and the Bay of Bengal.
Its capital is Dhaka and the country gained independence on the 16 December 1971 from West Pakistan; (26 March 1971 is the actual date of independence but 16 December 1971 is known as Victory Day and commemorates the official creation of the state of Bangladesh.
There are many tourist attractions in Bangladesh for example many museums, mosques, national parks, shrines and famous towns.
Among them are the National Monument at Savar, Mahasthangarh at Bogra, Moynamoti at Comilla, Lalbagh Fort at Dhaka, Cox's Bazar, Sundarbans and Saint Martins Island.
Its main exports are Garments, fish, jute goods and leather products.
