OCA’s new Sporting Asia celebrates Olympic Day around the continent

Kuwait City, Kuwait, September 27, 2019: The new edition of the Olympic Council of Asia’s quarterly magazine, Sporting Asia, is now ready for download from the OCA website, www.ocasia.org.

Edition 46, for September 2019, celebrates Olympic Day in Asia with 10 pages of pictures and reports from around the continent. The Olympic Day coverage highlights the passion and enthusiasm for the Olympic Movement in Asia as the IOC marks the 125th anniversary of its founding in 1894.

The new edition also features the OCA/Olympic Solidarity Asian Skateboarding Youth Camp in Nanjing, China, which attracted 35 skaters and 19 coaches/managers from 19 NOCs.

There is also news of the OCA Coordination Committee visit to China in September, with stops at the host cities of the 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya in 2020 and the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou in 2022.

As well as a look at the first ANOC World Beach Games in Doha, Qatar this October, the new Sporting Asia includes all the regular features such as the President’s Message, NOC News in Pictures, NOC Focus on Japan and Macau, China, two pages dedicated to Women and Sport, News in Brief, Obituary and the OCA Diary and Sponsors’ Club.

The printed version of Sporting Asia 46 – September 2019 will be distributed at the OCA Executive Board meeting in Doha on September 28 and to Asian NOCs and the wider Olympic Movement at the ANOC General Assembly in Doha on October 17-18.

Sporting Asia was launched by the OCA in 2009 to publicise the multi-sport games of the OCA as well as the events and activities of the NOCs, games organising committees and the interests of other stakeholders such as sponsors and media.
