Kyrgyzstan NOC to benefit from CIS sports experts

Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, September 17, 2019: The International Forum for heads of National Olympic Committees of the CIS, Baltic and Georgia States was held for the first time in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan on September 2.

Cholpon-Ata is well known as the location of Issyk-Kul Lake, known as “the pearl of Kygyzstan” and which translates as Warm Lake in the local language.

The President of the NOC, Sharshenbek Abdykerimov, and the coordinator of the CIS, Baltic and Georgia States Forums and Deputy Secretary General of the Russian Olympic Committee, Yurii Yuriev, and delegations of 15 NOCS took part in the forum.

They were: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Estonia.

The forum included the presentations by leading specialists of the CIS, Baltic and Georgian States NOCs on several topics including:

*Olympic sports in anticipation of Tokyo 2020

*advanced training of sports professionals; the opportunities of Olympic Solidarity

*heritage of the II European Games in Minsk 2019

*results of the European Olympic Youth Festival in Baku 2019

*Children of Asia International Games – a project that unites Europe and Asia

Ukrainian scientist Vladimir Platonov spoke about modern trends of sports medicine, the process of sports development and the preparation of athletes for the Olympic Games.

According to the results of the meeting, it was decided to invite the leading CIS experts to Kyrgyzstan for lectures to coaches on the topics of internal discipline, psychological training, nutrition, the administration of medicinal drugs and the development of training camps for coaches and athletes at Issyk-Kul sports bases in Kyrgyzstan.

The national traditions, Kyrgyz hospitality, theatrical performance of stunt riders on horses, as well as the beauty of the Kyrgyzstan nature and Issyk-Kul Lake produced a great impression on the guests.

The next forum will be held in Estonia in 2020.
