Kathmandu, Nepal, September 15, 2019: Jeevan Ram Shrestha has been re-elected as President of the Nepal Olympic Committee in voting held at the General Assembly on Saturday, September 14.
Shrestha mustered 17 votes to beat challenger Umesh Lal Shrestha, who received 10 votes, in the election that took place in the presence of representatives from the International Olympic Committee and Olympic Council of Asia at Nepal NOC headquarters in Lalitpur.
Also elected as Vice-Presidents were: Ms. Jyoti Rana, Chatura Nanda Baidhya, Tej Bahadur Gurung, Sunil Kumar Shrestha and Ashok Rana Bajracharya.
Nilendra Shrestha was elected as Secretary General defeating opponent Purendra Lakhe 15-10. Pitamber Timalsina was unanimously elected as Deputy Secretary General.
The other members of the executive board are: Treasurer Ratan Kumar Tandon; Secretaries Deepak Harsha Bajracharya, Ms. Kumari Tulasi Thapa and Ramji Bahadur Shrestha; Members Gopal Sundar Lal Kakshapati, Ramesh Prasad Siwakoti, Prakash Samsher Rana, Dirga Bahadur, Hom Bahadur Dong, Tashi Ghale and Ram Awale.
