Free entry for ANOC World Beach Games in Doha

Doha, Qatar, October 9, 2019: The organisers of the inaugural ANOC World Beach Games in Doha, Qatar from October 12-16 have announced that entry will be free of charge.

The five-day ANOC World Beach Games, also known as Qatar 2019, will kick off with a spectacular opening ceremony at the beach side of the Katara Cultural Village in Doha on October 12.

More than 1,200 athletes from 97 National Olympic Committees representing all five continents will be competing in 14 disciplines across 13 sports at four venues: Katara Cultural Village, Aspire Zone, Al Gharafa Stadium and the Ritz Carlton Hotel.

The sports are: aquathlon, 3x3 basketball, sport climbing (bouldering), beach handball, karate (kata individual), kitefoil racing, skateboarding, beach soccer, open water 5km swimming, beach tennis, beach volleyball 4x4, waterski, wakeboard and beach wrestling.

Commenting on the gesture, Sheikha Asma Al-Thani, Director of Marketing and Ceremonies for Qatar 2019, said: “We are happy to offer everyone the opportunity of getting involved in the competition and it is a pleasure for us to declare this historical event free-entry.

“The ANOC World Beach Games Qatar 2019 is a unique event; it is the first time an event of this magnitude that combines all the beach sports together is being held.

“This is a competition for the entire family and I believe the fans will come out in large numbers to cheer their teams while at the same time enjoy themselves on the beautiful beaches in Doha."
